Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa in Ko Olina, Hawai'i, opened on August 29th, 2011. The team at the Disney Parks Blog requested the creation of a digital wallpaper to celebrate the opening as my first assignment. They picked the subject for the artwork and gave me a list of basic requests and things to consider (i.e. goals for the artwork and items of cultural significance which might require research to ensure the details are as accurate as possible).
The wallpaper you see here launched on Disney's official online blog on December 19th, 2011 and was my first publicly-released work of art via Disney.
