This digital wallpaper was my second assignment for the Disney Parks Blog.
The wallpaper you see here launched on Disney's official online blog on March 20th, 2012. This particular wallpaper was designed to celebrate the launch of the Disney Fantasy, the third cruise ship in the Disney Cruise Line fleet. It would set sail on its first Guest sailing just eleven days later.
Keen-eyed viewers will note the same palm trees, hibiscus flowers, and leaves that were previously used in my last wallpaper release. Each wallpaper I created for the Disney Parks Blog served as an opportunity to learn something new. As a self-taught digital artist with limited experience, each assignment presented an opportunity to try a new technique.
Looking back at this wallpaper today, it comes across as rather unimpressive... but because I know what lessons I learned from the creation of this piece and how that new knowledge was used later, I can appreciate it more.
This piece also represented an important milestone in my artistic journey... It was the first digital wallpaper I did for the Disney Parks Blog where they let me include my digital signature in the lower right-hand corner of the artwork!
