This piece was an "on my own" work, meaning this wasn't created as part of an assignment from the Disney Parks Blog even though the intent was to release it there.
The original work was going to feature the shadow of Dreamfinder and Figment flying across the night sky in their spark catching machine from the original Journey Into Imagination attraction. Later, I decided not to include that element and just put the focus on Spaceship Earth and the Leave-A-Legacy monoliths.

The final result was similar in style to the Space Mountain digital wallpaper I had previously created. It featured a certain element of realism, but stayed firmly rooted as a digitally-painted work of art.
After submitting this piece, I went on hiatus from the Disney Parks Blog to focus on several other personal matters which had come up at the time. My hiatus would last three years, but when I returned, I would have new skills to showcase.
